MRK-Systeme is the German short cut for “Human-robot Collaboration systems”. Therefore MRK has a strong expertise in collaborative robot systems.
A focus for MRK is not only the technical feasibility but also the legal aspect. MRK robotic systems are listed on the BG (official body in Germany) web page as successful certified collaborative robotic systems. (http://www.bghm.de/arbeitsschuetzer/fachinformationen/maschinen/robotik/)
Furthermore MRK took part in many research projects that are focused on human-robot collaboration (SMErobot, CustomPacker,...).
To enable Safe human robot collaboration, MRK developed a sensitive capacitive skin that detects approaches of a human in a distance of app. 30 cm. This development is already in use in the KR 5 SI robot, but could be also adjusted to other robots and applications.
