UPMC, the largest scientific University in France has 4 500 researchers and teachers, 180 laboratories, 30 000 students and 700 scientific PhD delivered per year. UPMC is involved in numerous European and International partnership agreements and has France's largest scientific library and infrastructures. The researchers involved in this project are from ISIR (Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique), which is a joint research unit from UPMC and CNRS. Since 2011, ISIR has been developing a research activity on MAVs, especially within the "RTE-UPMC research Chair on Autonomous Mini-Drones’’. In this context, the team has built several MAV prototypes, developed all the associated software architecture, and control algorithms from low to high-level loops. http://chair-uavs.isir.upmc.fr/
UPMC acts as a Researcher in the Eiffel Team. UPMC brings expertise on all feedback control aspects. Another expertise of the team concerns IMU-aided sensor fusion. UPMC will be referent for feedback control aspects and IMU-based sensor fusion.
The team has a strong experience on feedback control laws and observer design. Since 2011, it has developed an expertise on experiments with MAVs, in particular for sensor-based control (see links above). Finally, the team has strong relations with the industrial partner and a good understanding of its business.
