The Technische Universität München (TUM) has consistently been recognized as one of the top academic research institution in Europe in several independent rankings over the recent years. One of the missions of TUM is to boost interdisciplinary research between computer science, engineering, medicine, and humanities.
The Computer Vision Group (Chair of Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, Informatics 9, TUM) at TUM is headed by Prof. Daniel Cremers. The group is focused on a range of research topics in computer vision, image analysis and pattern recognition. In the robotics context, the group pursues research on vision-based localization, mapping, and navigation for mobile robots and micro aerial vehicles (MAVs). It is involved in several national and international robotics research projects. For his outstanding research, Prof. Daniel Cremers received several prestigious awards such as a Google Faculty Research Award, and ERC Starting and Consolidator Grants.
