Ascending Technologies GmbH (ASC) was founded in January 2007 and became quickly one of the most innovative companies in multi‐rotor‐MAVs.

The company is today located in Krailling close to Munich. ASC created a product portfolio that covers the weight range from 400g to 6.5kg. 26 permanent employees produce, maintain and develop MAVs for the professional and research market in two main product lines.

The professional line is typically used in aerial photography, industrial inspection, public safety applications and environmental monitoring. The research line has been specifically designed taking research needs into consideration. Interfaces to low‐, middle‐, and high‐level vehicle control are offered as well as many different payload and sensor options as well as an optional high speed onboard computer up to a low weight Intel Core I7 CPU.

ASC MAVs were awarded first places and best mission awards in three major MAV competitions (MAV08, EMAV08 and IARC2009) in cooperation with MIT, Cambridge and DLR, Oberpfaffenhofen.

In 2010 ASC demonstrated the hovering MAV world endurance record in cooperation with LaserMotive LLC, Kent, WA by flying for 12:27 h powered by a laser.
