EuRoC aims at sharpening the focus of European manufacturing through a number of application experiments, while adopting an innovative approach which ensures comparative performance evaluation. In the framework of EuRoC, three industry-relevant challenges are launched:
The purpose of running the three Challenges is 1) to question the status quo of the existing solutions in the respective fields, 2) to showcase the potential of robotics Challenges and bring Europe to the forefront of grant induced innovation and 3) to develop innovative products and services that are applicable to end users and benefit the European manufacturing industry.
All the three Challenges are launched in an open call framework aimed at involving whole supply chains and fostering collaboration among application experts, technology suppliers, system integrators, service providers and potential end users.
This call for challengers is related to the EU-funded Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) project EuRoC (European Robotic Challenges, Grant Agreement Number 608849):
Any legal entity (or teams composed by legal entities), whether established in a EU member state or associated country may participate in the EuRoC challenges. A legal entity is any natural person, or any legal person created under the national law of its place of establishment, or under Community law or international law, which has legal personality and which may, acting under his own name, exercise rights and be subject to obligations. In the case of natural persons establishment revers to habitual residence.
Natural persons, whether established in a EU member state or associated country, may participate in Stage I (Simulation Contest), but in order to access Stage II they must become legal persons or be recruited by legal persons.
Organisations and individuals composing the EuRoC core consortium and their affiliates are not allowed to submit proposals. Even institutes within large organisations, such as Fraunhofer or CNRS, cannot apply to this call.
