Team Profile:

Robosoft, established in 1985 by INRIA researchers, is recognized as a leading supplier of Advanced Robotics Solutions throughout Europe and beyond. Its experience in robotics, more precisely in subsets integration and automatic control, allows providing operational robotic solutions in 5 areas:

  • Health: assistive mobile robots for elderly and handicapped people
  • Security: remotely operated mobile robots for tele-presence and work in hazardous areas
  • Transport: automatic transport of goods and people
  • Education and research in robotics
  • Cleanliness: automatic floor and windows cleaning

Robosoft combines engineering activities and off-the-shelf products, aiming at making easier and faster development of robotic solutions, thanks to a generic software approach.

The key points for Robosoft are the following ones:

  • A leading edge technology: ROBOSOFT has the most efficient technologies, necessary to its activity
  • A strong scientific partnership: ROBOSOFT cooperates with several research centers all over Europe to carry out common projects
  • A significant experience: ROBOSOFT has been working in the field of advanced robotics solutions for more than 25 years

Vincent Dupourque, CEO – obtained a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Compiègne, a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University Paris 12, and Docteur Es-Sciences Physiques from the University of Franche-Comté. His expertises are in the areas of automatic robot control and overall design of complex robotic solutions. He was one of the founders of Robosoft in 1985. He has authored more than 20 scientific international publications and 2 books dealing with robot control. His contribution will deal with commercial and marketing aspects in robotics.

Aubert Carrel, R&D projects supervisor – Automation & Robotics Engineer from Ecole Centrale de Lyon (1989) and ENSAE Toulouse (1990), he was, from 1990 to 2000, a project leader in the “Image Processing and Mobile Robotics” team of high-tech software company ITMI in Grenoble. There, he gained a significant experience in the development of onboard systems, especially in the field of unmanned ground vehicles, and in the management of technological projects (e.g. coordinator of the Brite-Euram project “CIRC” between 1998 and 2000). In 2001, he founded the PGES Company, specialized in the design and realization of innovative systems for accurate localization, guidance, tracking, and environment perception of manned and unmanned vehicles. In 2009, as PGES was integrated into Robosoft, he became the supervisor of the company’s R&D projects.

Francis Martinez, Responsible for software development - PhD and a doctorate in computer science from the University Joseph Fourier in Grenoble in 1977 and 1982, Mr. Martinez was a professor in "Synthesis and image processing" and "Algorithms and methodology programming "in the same university from 1982 to 1988. in 1988 he participated in the creation of the company GETRIS (machines synthesis real-time images) which has been the Director of R & D until 1996, supervising 17 engineers. In 1996 he joined the team, "Image Processing - Mobile Robotics" society ITMI (Cap Gemini), where he led several projects to develop prototypes combining embedded computing and advanced algorithmic. Mr. Martinez joined ESMP in April 2004 as Director of Developments.

Meftah Ghrissi, R&D project manager - Microelectronics and automation Engineer from Engineering Institute of Montpellier (ISIM) in 1985 and Ph. D from University of Science and Technology of Languedoc Montpellier in 1988. From 1988 to 2000 he was a project manager and technical department leader of Robosoft. From 2001 to 2009 he was R&D department chief at SOTUFEM – Tunisia in charge of development of special machine for industry use and in same time technical manager of Philips Medical System representative in Tunisia. And then re integrated Robosoft from January 2010 as R&D project manager.
