The team (http://webs.uvigo.es/grupoesa) is composed of:

Three senior researchers with a dilated experience in industrial automation, shop floor data access systems, industrial integration and industrial standards development.

A PhD student working in dynamic control motion control systems.

Undergraduate students working on automation, motion control, industrial integration, logistics, etc. The main laboratory of the grope (http://webs.uvigo.es/grupoesa/RicardoMarinLab.html) covers two main technology areas (among others): Motion Control and Non-conventional cinematic robotics. Industrial informatics (automation, warehousing, transportation, integration).

The members of the team belongs to a research group with previous experience in both research projects and industry oriented projects. The group has more than15 year’s tradition in STEP (ISO 10303) research. From 2004 was focused on manufacturing data traceability for STEP manufacturing scenarios (CAD/CAM/CNC). Also the group is involved in the development of PLC standards as member of PLCOpen. These research lines have supported the work of member of the grope in international standard committees:

  • ISO TC 184/SC4 WG3/T24. This is the ISO committee for development of 10303: AP-238 STEP NC.
  • WG7 of the IEC SC 65B, which is uncharged of the development of IEC61131 and IEC61499.

The team has also a large experience in implementing industrial projects for car manufacturing industry, stone processing industry, etc. Among many others, there are systems working developed by the group at car assembly plant of Renault, Mercedes, PSA, etc., and many car supplier industry factories.
